Bachelor of Science Program in Systems Engineering (BSSE)
Systems Engineering (SE) is an interdisciplinary area that designs and / or improves engineering, organizational and societal systems. Our students are exposed to systems, management, business and engineering concepts and applications, and have the necessary understanding and skills to work on and / or supervise multidisciplinary projects.
Systems Engineers can:
- Handle interdisciplinary issues and problems
- Create, analyze and improve complex systems
- Coordinate operational issues from a systems perspective
- Manage technical, business and management functions
- Supervise multinational units, projects and global supply chains
- Understand future trends in global markets and economies.
- Develop product creation, production, marketing and sales strategies
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of SE, graduates can and do work in a variety of different industries. Some examples include but are not limited to: Energy, Telecommunications, Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation and Distribution, Information Technology, Financial Services, Automotive, Retail, Healthcare…
Within the BSSE program, students learn up-to-date systems engineering topics with a special focus on application, systems thinking, written and oral communication and leadership. Some of these topics include but are not limited to: Decision and Risk Analysis, Systems Modeling and Optimization, Systems Design, Planning and Analysis, Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Management, and Global Business Dynamics.
